Please take a moment to review the following information. This will ensure that you understand what to expect so you have an extraordinary evening:
1. When and Where to Go
- The historic Lincoln Theatre (1215 U St., NW), will host the Awards ceremony and the Awards After-Party will be held a few blocks away at the legendary Howard Theatre (620 T St., NW).
- Doors for the Awards ceremony at the Lincoln open at 7pm.
- The Awards presentation will begin around 8pm.
2. Tickets
- Your tickets have been emailed to you upon purchase.
- If you have not received them, please check your spam box or your TicketFly account.
- If they didn’t make it through, this is not a problem. Just call us at 202.337.4572 or email us at info@theatrewashington.org.
- You must have your ticket for admission.
3. Parking
- Metered street parking is available.
- Other information regarding garages and valet service will be forthcoming.
4. Metro
- The U Street/Cardozo (Yellow and Green lines) metro station is directly across the street from the Lincoln Theatre.
- The Shaw/Howard University (Yellow and Green lines) metro station is around the corner from the Howard Theatre on 7th Street.
5. Arrival
- Doors open at the Lincoln Theatre at 7pm.
- You must have your ticket for admission.
6. Seating
- Seating in the Lincoln Theatre is by section per ticket price and then general admission within that section. To see a seating plan, please click here.
- There is some seating at the tables and booths at the Howard Theatre. To see more about the Howard Theatre, click here.
7. The Awards
- The Awards presentations will begin at approximately 8pm.
- They will be presented with no intermission.
- Stars of the Washington stage will lead us through 47 Awards categories plus two special Awards: The Washington Post Award for Innovative Leadership in the theatre community and The John Aniello Award for Outstanding Emerging Theatre Company.
8. The After-Party
- Savory and sweet items will be served
- Each attendee gets two drink tickets. Otherwise, it is a cash bar.
- There will be a DJ playing music for dancing
- The evening concludes at 12:30.
9. What to Wear?
- It’s a celebration. That means almost anything goes. For ladies – long, short, or a fun party dress.
- For gentlemen, feel free to play it up be “creative.”
