Thurs, January 11 at 8:30pm is a Pay-What-You-Can Preview for Constellation Theatre Company's The Skin of Our Teeth by Thornton Wilder. All tickets are sold at the door 1 hour prior to curtain time on a first come, first served basis. No advance sale tickets. Additionally, Fri, January 12 8:30pm is a $15 discounted Preview and Sat, January 13 at 8pm is a $25 discounted Preview, tickets currently on sale.

Be the first to see Theresa Rebeck's The Way of the World at Folger Theatre which begins January 9 with a Pay-What-You-Will Performance. Tickets are first come, first served beginning at 5pm at the box office window; limit one ticket person. Additionally, playwright/director Rebeck will share her creative insights on the production in a pre-show discussion at 6:30pm on January 11 (tickets $20, separate admission from the play; wine reception with light fare is included). The Way of the World is part of the 2018 Women's Voices Theater Festival (Jan 15-Feb 15).

Theater J's Yiddish Theater Lab - a new initiative dedicated to preserving and reviving the forgotten literature of the Yiddish Theater - joins with Shakespeare Theatre Company's ReDiscovery Reading Series to present The Jewish King Lear on January 8 (at the Lansburgh Theatre). Cast features D.C. favorites, Kimberly Gilbert, Laura C. Harris, Naomi Jacobson and Alyssa Wilmoth Keegan. FREE, but reservations are required.

On January 7 (11:30am and 2pm), join GALA Hispanic Theatre for their traditional Three Kings celebration (Fiesta de los Reyes Magos), featuring the Magi, live animals, local performers, a walk through the neighborhood, and gifts for every child. FREE for the entire family! Admission is free, but a small gift for a boy or a girl ages 3 to 12 is suggested. Told through songs from the Great American Songbook, this world premiere production from the American Pops Orchestra revisits Jules Verne’s timeless classic "Around the World in 80 Days" in a musical adventure for all ages. After last season’s family show sold out, a second performance has been added for this year's show. Written by Claybourne Elder (Signature Theatre's Sunday in the Park with George), starring Benjamin Lurye, Hilary Morrow, Nurney Mason, Tiara Whaley and more. Saturday, January 6 at 2pm and 5pm at Arena Stage.

Karen made her NextStop debut in Kiss Me Kate, earning her a Helen Hayes Award nomination for leading actress and also performed in Rodgers and Hammerstein's A Grand Night for Singing.

Paso Nuevo, GALA Hispanic Theatre’s Youth Arts Program, presents THROUGH MY EYES/DESDE MIS OJOS, December 15 8pm, an evening of original works performed in Spanish with English surtitles, directed by Mauricio Pita. A post-performance discussion with the youth will follow the performance. Admission is FREE. Now in its 25th year, Paso Nuevo is GALA’s after-school workshop program for Latino and multi-cultural youth ages 12 to 19.

During Ford’s Theatre's production of "A Christmas Carol" they will be partnering with House of Ruth as recipient of this year’s donation drive inspired by the themes of charity in Dickens’s holiday classic. House of Ruth provides comprehensive services and housing for women, children and families healing from domestic abuse, and provides resources to help them build safe, stable lives. During the curtain calls for performances, the company will collect monetary donations. Patrons also can make donations through the box office. All donation checks should be made payable to “House of Ruth.” “A Christmas Carol” plays through December 31.

Quotidian Theatre Company favorites Jane Squier Bruns and Steve Beall begin their dramatic duel in dual one-person plays rarely seen - Horton Foote's A Coffin in Egypt and Conor McPherson's St Nicholas. As part of this rep on November 18, noted Foote and McPherson expert/author Professor Gerald C. Wood will lead after-show talks following the 2pm matinee of St Nicholas and the 8pm performance of A Coffin in Egypt.
